Clutch Noise

I havent run an open clutch cover before now and I'm getting clutch noise on a neutral throttle. Its OK when accelerating and decelerating.
Is this normal and you just dont hear it with a full cover?...

I used an old headbolt with a socket head, an old bearing race as a spacer (or a socket would be better,as its deeper) which is bigger than the cush...

Tried my local supplier - he reckons the bearing was dicontinued in 1993 and no bearing manufacturers still make them.....................!!!
