Interesting post this one, not only do I not need the top of the line tyres but I save money as well, more of an ego thing to by the best tyres, when I wouldnt need them lol

My bike is a 996R and sometimes when I let go of the throttel or slow down quickly I have a backfiring type sound, BUT its not from the exhust, It sounds like at the front of the engine is sucking in...

I have a new battery ( 6 months old )yet after a day of sitting
