| I had the vertical coil shorting to earth warning on mine about a month ago. It cut out completely. About 20 minutes flapping around with wires then push back home. I was only about 500 yards but the last 100 are up a steep hill. Got to the bottom of the hill and it started first time, rode it home........
Anyway, I removed seat/tank and took out coil, shone a torch in looking for water, moisture etc and it was bone dry (I had washed it the previous night), whacked a load of grease round the seal and popped the coil back in. Its never done it again. |
