| I have honestly no idea what width the 1098 rear wheel is, but last year i popped a 200/55 D211gp on my 996. It rasied the rear by a significant amount - enough to make the bike turn in quicker, but the tyre was curved over too much, enough to ensure that i couldn't possibly get to the edge of the tread even on trackdays.
I'd suspect as a result the contact patch was slightly smaller but the tyre gripped so well that i'd not had any slides at all in the dry.
I'd not fit that size again - i've used 190/55's in the past and they seem ideal...but last year a set of scrubs - two rears and one front from t'bay for £47 was impossible to resist! |
