changing your oil at those intervals is a bit of overkill with synthetic oil.
you can go ten times that no prob.

personally I use cooking oil, mazola...so when i go out on the 996 foggy, it gets nice and hot by the time I come back from a ride... and the wife throws the chips in...hence we kill two birds with one stone...i get a ride and she gets to make dinner for us on the cheap.

Mind you the neighbours have found out and keep coming round and asking for a fish supper !

but on a more serious note...
a fully synthetic oil only contains a small percentage of actual synthetic components, most of it is still base stock made from mineral crude oil.
depending on which spec your oil is manufactured to, you may only find between 16 - 23 % of synth products in the oil.

how do i know...I work for Exxon Mobil of course, so if you want any questions answered on oils let me know, but Im off to Nigeria soon, so may not get a comp for a while.
