| i mentioned before about cheap HDMI cables. most will struggle with 1080P but i've never seen a cheap cable struggle with 1080i.
it's got to be easier all round to exchange/upgrade/buy a better quality HDMI cable then it'll be a case of pestering friends to borrow DVD players and try them out with your set.
