I would get the same type of front tyre, that way it will match the rear one and you won't have any problems with different compounds, different profiles or different degrees of grip at either end of the bike.

If you must get something different, I would always go for a grippier tyre on the front than at the rear. Cos if you lose the back end chances are that you'll just have a little slide from the back end, if you lose the front you're probably going down the road on yo ass within the next second or two.
