Question 748R Ohlins Fork Preload Adjustment

I was having a fiddle with the suspension yesterday.

When I came to set up the front sag using the fork preload, although the blue nuts were turning OK, they didn't seem to be actually winding in or out of the fork in order to show more or less rings (as they do with the Showa units). The range of adjustment is 0 - 18.5mm with the OE setting being 10.5mm, but turning the nut didn't alter the measurement between the fork cap and the top of the nut.

Is all the gubbins hidden inside the fork leg then? If that's the case, then presumably, given that there are approx 16 turns stop to stop and the range of adjustment is 18.5mm, each turn = 1.15mm of preload? Or should it be measured some other way?

I feel like I'm asking a lot of questions lately. Hopefully not all of them are daft ones......

Thanks
