The air box breather hose is supposed to locate in a grommet in the lower fairing panel but it is possible that it may not be fitted properly when the panel is re-fitted at servicing. With the result that the pipe can contact the exhaust and catch fire. There have been several recorded incidences in the US. The fix is to shorten the breather hose by a few inches so that it cannot contact the exhaust. |
