Gents I'm probably going to get flamed for this one, but here goes anyway. I've always gone for ultra-sticky Pirelli rubber on my road-only bikes, and I'm completely p***ed off with wasting a back tyre in 1500 miles. When I picked up my 998S last year, it was fitted with a Dragon Evo rear plus an Evo Corsa front. For road riding, I couldn't perceive any difference in grip coming out of bends, but decided to put on an Evo Corsa on the rear at renewal time. Guess what - 900 miles and it was completely square. So a few weeks ago I noticed Edinburgh Kawasaki's offer of £145 for a pair of Diablo's (not Corsa) fitted, and I can honestly say I think these are, for road-only use absolutely ample in terms of grip, on a bike pushing out 142bhp at the rear wheel. |
