I reckon that if you're looking for a road bike that can out accelerate an R1 or a Speed Triple in a straight line, you're looking at the wrong bike.

But, if you want a bike that is quicker than most people will ever need down an A road or B road then you don't need a tuned Multistrada to do that. Just surf the torque on a standard Multi and it'll go mental quick if you want it to, firing itself from corner to corner on a big wave of torque.

I have personally witnessed a well ridden Multistrada (step forward KeefyB) surprising a lot of sportsbikes on normal roads.

Your post hints that you haven't actually ridden one yet? Blag a test ride from somewhere and prepare to be surprised.
