In answer to the first quesion on the thread...


1. Check your bike over; get it serviced before you venture towards the twisty track Tarmac and then check it again.
2. When you get there take your time. Leave to arrive early and then you are not rushing around. Being frantic in the morning sets the wrong tone for the day.
3. Adjust your tyre pressures for track use, 32psi front and 30psi rear is a good starting place for nearly all bikes.
4. Make sure you keep it in your pants and SLOWLY build up speed as the day goes on. You do have all day you know!
5. Let others pass. Your ego will want you to go too fast too soon and this will end up in tears. When others are going mental stay calm and do your own thing. There’s no prize money at the end of the day…


Put it another way…

Would you prefer the first track day to be slow and steady and still ride more all year or lob it at the hedges break yourself and the bike and not ride again until the winter?
