Pilot Race

I run Pilot race on my 996, but the hard compound rear. It runs better on the road, but you have to work it hard to keep the temperature up.

The Pilot sport Race 2 (H2) is more suited to the road, but still you have to work it hard to get the benefit and the tread pattern on the H2 is a liability in anything but dry conditions. Which is why I use the earlier Pilot Sport which has more in the way of tread.

Using a little care I can eek out 800-1000 miles from a Pilot race rear.

When you use a homologated race tyre on the road, they take considerably longer to warm up, which I why some people really don't like them, plus the effort to keep them at temperature means you are travelling at considerable road speed !!!
