| Looks like some kind of strengthening item. It uses the lower mounting holes in the engine (which are used for the rear brake m/c on later bikes and the 916 line) and then goes up to the swingarm mount point - maybe it's in an effort to reduce flex in the swingarm pivot? Doesn't look like it's adjustable at all... |
