The real problem was that it rained nearly every evening. The sun wouldn't really heat up until noon, so you only had a window of opportunity of about five hours. It was always after 3.00pm that the circuit would finally dry out enough to consider venturing out. When we were there last year it rained for a morning and the track then took hours to dry even in 20C+ temps, weirdest thing I've seen, but as you say Jon it's a cracker and I will be going back hopefully at some point this year
