| Things looking up?
18 active posts today on DSC (only 14 on ISC but a mighty 100 on ducatisti).
We have the trackday and the AGM coming up, both of which will be important for me in deciding whether to continue in this club. I hardly ever use the other websites, other than to see what people are up to and I don't have a Ducati anymore, although, never say never, I still fancy a little 696 in red.
My membership is due now, in fact it's now lapsed. I only really keep paying my £20 for a few reasons:
1. The DSC trackday is the best couple of days on track bar none and I enjoy instructing on it. (I can go on as many trackdays as I like obviously). I wonder how many people I will know at this years event - I used to know pretty much everyone and everyone knew me, I very much doubt that will be the case this year!
2. Pronto is still worth having and I enjoy writing for it and reading other people's articles. (but then I write other places and can buy a bike mag every month).
3. This has been and could still be a good club and I don't want to see it go down for the sake of people like me giving up.
There are plenty out there who are praying the DSC trackday will be empty and we'll lose money and it won't be a success and DUK will find something wrong with the accounts and members will diminish until the club folds etc etc blah blah, they can't wait to see it fail to rub people's noses in it and justify their own actions in their minds, but I would like to see it rise from the ashes.
However, I find it hard to see how it will grow and develop with so many people leaving and no real change whatsoever since last year (don't mention the war).
Is the AGM still on at the trackday? Yes it is, but you'd hardly notice as there has been so little mentioned. (is this deliberate?).
I have to pay my £20 to attend the trackday and I'll probably do that because I promised Monty I would and he's a friend), but this could be it for me unless I see some real change following the AGM.
