Neutral can be very elusive on my strada as well, but mainly because the neutral light tells lies.

It may be that if you've got a new clutch pack in there it might be dragging ever so slightly, which would make neutral more difficult to engage.

My ST also does it when the clutch needs bleeding.

Other than that, make sure that all the linkages and chain are correctly adjusted, cos that helps as well. I once had trouble with selecting neutral after I'd lowsided on the right hand side on a trackday. The clutch was completely undamaged, but I kept getting false neutrals and difficult gear selection after that. It turned out that the left hand footrest had somehow been loosened (I think the marshall used it to pull me out of the gravel) and it was flexing just enough to cause gear selection problems
