yeah i read that and used it as a guide for ride height although quite why they say lower front when you can steepen head angle i'm not sure. Dropping forks through does make a hugh difference though. I'm always reluctant to accept preload and damping settings, i tend to ride on bumpy roads not a race track so need a more comfortable setting which is usually softer and with little rebound to stop it packing down as you go through a series of different size bumps.
