The method I've used to straighten them out is to use some long shoulder (or machine) screws. They are used for dowelling machine fixtures etc. These have the right thread, but then the bolt diameter increases. They are usually made from high tensile steel so are less likely to bend. Use a washer to protect the paint and then screw one into each mounting. You can then slip a hefty tube over them to get the leverage needed. Do each mount a little at a time to protect the weld. |
