JOLINK'S DUCATI SECOND IN EUROPEAN DRAG SERIES

Herman Jolink has taken second place in the 2005 European Topgas Supertwin series aboard his 996RS-powered dragster. "The Hermanator" got through the semi-finals of the last race of the year in Vandel in Denmark with a new 1/4 mile personal best of 8.732 seconds and a terminal speed of 246 kmh (152.9 mph).

On Friday's qualifier, he beat his previous best time by recording an 8.791 and then, later that day, beat it again to qualify fourth overall. Losing in the semi-finals to Andre Stefan's 8.2 and 8.3 second runs, Herman picked up just enough points for second in the series, his best-ever result.

Jolink now looks back on a successful season including victory in the Czech Republic and second place in Hungary. He claims his 996RS to have been very reliable but plans to move on and develop a 999 Testastretta version ready for pre-winter tests.
