Radiator help 996 01

Hi DSC!
I'm a New Duc 996 owner,
Here is the situation/question.
During a 1 hour ride, the temp gauge reads between 180 to 200.

Once I get home and about to shut her down, I hear this fizzing sound coming from the front of the bike. Plus I smell this burnt coolant. The fan is on all this time.

The question:
Is that normal? never own a water cooled bke before. Or I'm looking at trouble.

Thanx.

Have you checked to see if the coolant level is dropping?
Need to have the bike upright to check it.
Also worth a look in the oil level window to check if the oil is emulsifying, sure sign off a problem if both symptoms are together.
Mine was blown head gaskets when mine was doing a similar thing?

Get the fairings off and see if there is any coolant leaking anywhere, if not you might have a gasket problem?

Other thing could be a split header tank which has happened to a few members before.

Nelly at Cornerspeed did mine in double quick time so I could get to Assen last year.

Worth a call to him on 01623 758877
