2011 Novice Championship

So here it is.

The 2011 Ducati Desmo Due Novice Championship is being sponsored by compucharge.

Not that anyone really cares, as long as there are trophies, right!

Eligibility has been determined as anyone not completing more than 2 previous rounds of DD racing.

The points scoring is different to the main championship, which should make for a more even spread.

Anyone who thinks they should be included, but aren't, should pm me to let me know.

You're elegible if you haven't raced before this year, I had 4 meets in 2009 and didn't qualify for it in 2010.

Dom Clegg used to sort it and Andy Shep sponsored it last year, not sure about this year though.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight that matters, but the size of the fight in the dog.

Hugh is just as eligible as I was last year, and questionably more eligible that Matt Larrett the year before. I had only done one race at Donnington in 2009. I think Hugh was only at Oulton in 2008... but will obviously have to apply to the RC to confirm they will allow it. I don't see why being fast should exclude him

its the race before that would be the blocker, not he's fast

anyway....is iot going on this year? The peolpe who organised before are not connected to DD that much now, or DSC, altho I have seen Andy at rounds already.

but in a principle way, does it have to be for anything other than 'best rookie' tag? Maybe Kev could set a new table up with those eligible.

and from what you said Ron I'm surprised you were if you did a race before last season

For what it matters Ron is right in that I have only ever raced once in any series and that was for one round in 2008 at Oulton Park.

Back then I was a proper novice though! Only had my bike licence for a couple of months and only saw a track for the first time the week before the race Managed a very respectable 13th and a 10th, though in a rather upright position!

Other than that I have only ever done track days at Brands in 2008 before selling the bike to Ron. I've no idea if that makes me eligible or not but I was hoping there might be some benefit to me wearing the orange novice bib!

If the rules are that you should never have raced ever before then my 2008 outing would rule me out.

Novices aren't eligible!... That should be a new rule!
