Battery

Hi all
With winter coming and not being able to get out on the bike as often, I thought I would give the battery a charge up.

Am I right in thinking that if I leave the battery off the bike for too long the lost of battery power will decode the key/ignition???

Exactly right according to your owners manual:

http://www.ducati.com/services/maintenance/index.do

Two black keys and a code card - I didnt realise that, sorry.

Advice in the manual is also to remove the battery for charging but I'm not sure why, I have charge leads on my ST4s and trickle charge constantly via an 'intelligent' charger - no issues yet!

I always used to bring my batteries in the house during winter but it seems so mild that I'm not sure if I will do that myself.

Good luck.
