oil light won't turn off
Hi all, Got an s2r. Oil warning light will not turn off, oil level is fine.

Any explanations.

Mood: st2......we can rebuild
unplug the wire from the sender, if there is oil in the hole the sender is blown.

Its unfortunately a really common problem.
If you can borrow one from another ducati its an easy test to prove the point and put your mind at rest,

Don't condemn the sender just yet. Common problem with these is water ingress shorting out the circuit and bringing on the light. Remove the electrical connection plug and blow out any residual water, squirt some water repellant in the cavity such as WD40 as well as on the electrical plug itself. Replace and try again. If the sender is OK all should be well and the light will go out.
