Increasing idle

Can it be done on a 749/999 safely

I'm trying to get my bike to tick over at around 2.5-3K for trackdays as it just parks itself into the slower corners but how can I do this?

I've got a PCIII also if that helps, but need to be able to switch between the high revs and normla tickover for when not on the track

I've ahd a quick action throttle fitted on mine that has a button on it that can be used to take the freeplay out of the cable, I understand that this device can also be used to raise the revs at idle. Talk to Pro V Twins, of course I could be wrong.

I've got the same mod MM but that only works when you're warming the bike, as soon as you use the throttle it clicks back to the standard position

£200 from them - you could DIY for about £20!!!!

I know that this isnt strictly relevent but on safety grounds alone a single cable is just stupid!

The downsides of their mods are -

£200
you only end up with single cable operation - not very safe
their mod is completely overpriced and over engineered

I have a quick-action throttle that I fitted on my bike - £100 from Demon Tweaks - 1.5 hrs to fit from start to finish - works a treat.

But it doesnt help your idle issues - although I still dont know what you mean.

is it not the same as the 996 - 7mm spanner on the battery side of the bike?

Take throttle assembly apart and place a small bit of plastic where the fast idle button is on a 916/996 throttle that way you get the fast idle without it clicking off, thickness of plastic will determine idle speed.
I wonder if the housing without the fast idle button would drill and tap then you could use a screw and locknut to set the idle to where you wanted

7mm nut on right hand of injector bodies. I have already done this to mine, but be warned it takes a wee bit of getting used to at first as you don't have anything like the same engine braking.

I like skids idea. That would be ideal. Put a knurled knob on sort of like the lever adjuster on the Brembo radial master cylinders. Hmmmm...might just have to give that a go.

I'm hoping Yeti has taken the idea on board and will be knocking one out (pardon the pun) shortly
