Rev limiter too low?

Hi all,
I have a 02 998S with 3.000kms, and I noticed that it is cutting off when the rpm gets to 10.000?? . I find it a bit low, but ok, I am coming from a 4 Cylinder japonese...
So question is, is this normal, or when they did my first service they forgot to remove this?

Thanks

PC

BTW the ducati tacho is about as accurate as a fake rolex - i use my revlight as it is far more accurate!

My 998S limiter cuts in at 10.5 as per the dyno. Are you sure you are reading it right, pretty hard to tell the difference btwn 10 and 10.5 when riding hard at the limiter.

Prefer to ride mine 6-9k anyway and ride the torque.

PS do you have a flat spot at 4.5 - 5k?

Rev limiter and flat spot

You are probably right, it is a little bit difficult to tell the diference between 10k and 10,5k, especially when you are overtaking a friend's GSXR600 over 200 kms as if they are stopped

And as for the flat spot, I do notice it also, but I try to keep it as much as I can above 6.000 rpm... I am thinking of upgrading to a 54mm half system, which should probably even make it worse, but I can only dream of the sound and the top end rush

thanks for all the replys

Paulo
