Reverse pattern gear shift
Has anyone switched over to using a reversed gear shift pattern on a 9xx for road riding? How did you get on with it? I wouldn't anticipate switching between normal and reverse pattern.

Rear Sets
Yes
My 748R came with Corse rearsets.
1. Positive gear change is good.
2. Changing down instead of up is bad.

I got used to it quickly, but sometimes forget when in auto pilot mode.
They look nice though.

My 998 has reverse shift pattern and it took some getting used to but once used to it, it makes shifting much better....................wish I had a slipper clutch sometimes though!

Thanks all - I won't let that put me off then! Reason for asking is that there is a (remote) possibility that I might get hold of some rearsets for the SP3 that have this pattern. If I do, then I'll change the 916 as well so I don't have to change brain when I change bike (especially as it's essentially free on the 916?!).

Just done the change myself in anticipation of rather more track riding than of late. So far only managed one quick blat up the road, but it seemed easy enough to get me head into upside down mode. Not sure what it will be like when the red mist descends though. One positive benefit is the shift is definately much quicker and smoother.

DC told me when he swapped over, he put a little sticker on the clocks saying "Down = fast. Up = slow". Seemed to work for him.

It works for me and I swap round all the time.

TZ-race pattern left foot
ST4S-road pattern left foot
Gilera Nuova Saturno-road pattern left foot
BSA Bantam-road pattern right foot
Gilera Saturno-race pattern right foot.

Confused-who me?
