Number on Number Board

I have a 750 ss with superlight seat. It has a number 1 on the number board on the sides.

Is this road legal? Issue was raised today, just curious.

Yes it is definitely road legal.
It is a myth that it isnt - loads of bikes have been running with numbers on their sides for well over a decade.

I've not had any issues with my Superlight and quite a few seem to have the Number 1 on the tail.
cheers

Reason I ask is that I had my IAM pre-test run today and in the debrief it was mentioned that the examiner may take exception to the number boards (and the exhausts too).

Legal or not I will cover the number boards for my test just in case.
