2000 996 Workshop Manual

Evening, I've been downloading a workshop manual from a previous post and then I spotted antonye's post in the thread listing the bikes it covered and alas my 2000 996 wasn't covered.

So ... here comes the obvious question is - who am I? ( )

Does anybody have one or can you point me in the right direction? I can buy a Haynes manual from Halfords ... how does the workshop manual differ from a Haynes manual?

Is there an actual Ducati manual that is more comprehensive? as in one that is really *only* given to authorised dealers etc .. aaaand if so, does anyone have this?

Blah blah blah ... WAKE UP!! ahem ...

I'm raving ... you get the idea ... now where's that bottle of red ...

Well I can't ride it so I may as well pull something off it and put it back on!

Gives me an excuse to sit in the garage and look at it!

TP - you need the latest version of Acrobat Reader otherwise you get the errors. Get it from http://www.adobe.com/

As for Haynes, it's more of a numpties book that gives step-by-step instructions on how to pull things apart, then tells you that "reassembly is the reverse of dissassembly" which is why they are known as the Book Of Lies.

The workshop manual is far more in depth giving tolerances and settings in minute detail, but once you open the book you'll see what I mean.

There shouldn't be too much difference between yours and the manual, it certainly will be the same for all the basic stuff that you're likely to do yourself anyway.

But for 20 notes a Haynes manual isn't too bad.

Dood, it didn't work.

Here is the error message and the adobe version.

Well .... it won't let me add any attachments - keeps timing out. Suffice to say that the same error about document corruption comes up - although it opens other pdf's fine like my motherboard manual (geek!) and when I use the Help -> Updates menu it finds none because it is the latest! (6.0.2)

You've obviously got a duff download then.

Are you in London tomorrow? Can write a copy to CD and meet you for a pint if you want?

Nah, I'm in Sunbury tomorrow and not in London until next Thursday.

Have you got a website you can whack it on or ftp site or something?
