Doubt whether I'm good enough to utilise it's potential. Also imagine the power would scare me witless.

That's not to say I wouldn't love to have the chance though.....

Not sure I can agree with that keefer, I scare myself quite sufficently every time I take to the track on my humble little 996!

I would be interested to see how quick a top rider could push say your 996 round a track compared to his race bike.
do you think the times would be that different.
having lots of pony's and little weight is one thing but as we all know putting it down is another.
the old top 250 times would be quite respectable on the 500 grid.
That's not to say you couldn't get yourself in a big pile of steaming do do if you don't treat it right.

Keefer - at the bigger tracks like Donington or Oulton the Superbikes are only about 4 seconds a lap faster than the Superstock (almost standard) bikes, and some of the road bikes we see on track days are seriously trick so would be capable of very quick laps with a top rider on top of it.

AC said JT's 999 was very controlable to ride.

I would imagine a top rider could push my bike quite a bit harder to the tune of at least 10 seconds a lap. As the BIG FIVE OH looms ever closer over the horizon, so my lap times slow down! I'm not that quick.

They've also got the Breil 749R supersport machine. I love that bike!
