748RS vs. 749R

which one??

I'm after a new/used Ducati to race in supersport..
I've already got the 999 for superbike..

Talked to protwins today, they have two 748RS onhand..
brand new 14000£
one used for two races 9500£

i can see the benefits in buying the 749R.
most of the parts (chrashing) i can use with my 999..

Help please..

Any ideas on service cost aswell??+

That's no brainer in your case.
Go with the 749R.

No not yet, but it's leaning against the 749R. Gonna give it to the end off the year. Have a couple to talk with about the 749R..

I've got a 748RS ex NCR test mule from World Supers, then ran in BSS in 2003.

If you want to race go 749, If you want a future collectable NICE trackbike go 748RS. Just my view!

Simon Knowlson is going to race his 748RS this year in the 600 open class with North Glos club, his bike puts out around 114bhp at the rear wheel. John Hackett told me last Saturday the best he has seen out of one is 124bhp.
Compare this to a kitted 749R like Butch's which I think he said is putting out around 140bhp then if you are out to win then the 749R is the one to go for but it doesn't come cheap.
It does depend on what level you are racing it at and how much you are prepared to spend
