NEC show 2011

Visited the show today, so now trying to warm up after the wet ride home
Although it seems smaller than previous years there was still lots to see and people to talk to

Ran into several people from the DSC including Dallas, Matt L, Anyony E and Colin, also bumped in to Glyn from the Scooter Shop, Cobby, Harriet and Little Holly.

Learn't a couple of intersting things

BSB to Assen, when dates were announced this morning
Changes to Brands at GHB,

Had a couple of Chats with Dave M from Hottrax, now that BSB dates have been announced he is nearer to confirming his race Calendar. So if things stay as they are the racing doesn't clash with Prescott Bike Festival or the Popham Megameet

Chatted to Lester Harris about fitting the later Two valve engines in there TT Frame Kit, so may well be an option for my 1000DS engine
Lester also gave me a really good price on a pair of Harris stands that support the bike on the footrests

Got a deal from Chris at Powerbronze on a set of Acerbis hand guards for the 1100 Monster

Would have liked to have picked up a set of Monoblock 108mm mounting radial calipers but funds a re a bit tight at the moment.

And I must admit I did like the look of the new 1199, looks better than what I thought going on some of the pictures I had seen

Thumbs up

Good to see you too Kev and have a quick chat!

I didn't get much of a chance to wander around the show as I was at the clubs meeting with DUK (notes to follow!) but I did get time to admire the 1199 Panigale; wow, what an awesome machine that is! It sure looks the nuts, so it will be interesting to see what the reviews are like when it goes out to the magazines.

The DUK stand was busy all day with people queueing to sit on the bike! Everyone I spoke to loved it and it seems that the orders are flooding in to the dealers.

I definitely going to have to track down a demonstrator

The boys and I stayed over in Brum for the night and suffered for it, glad I wasn't driving back
