Do we really need a DD forum?

Without wanting to get fingers pointing at anyone (coz we've all had a go at some point - even me)

Wouldn't it be easier to remove the DD forum altogether? Or perhaps keep the DD section on the forum, but only for the RC to post up important instructions/developments and points etc.

I think the series will still work perfectly happily without it.

There are loads of other sections for die hard forum geeks to post in, and it seems that 90% of the hassle eminates from the DD section.

A big part of what makes the series so good, is the precise reason that it kicks off so much - we have a say in how it's run - it's the best and worse thing about the series.

We can still have a say on how it's run, but just not on the forum and in public.

Let's keep it to Pronto and emails.

Nobody actively goes out to upset anyone, including the sponsors, so if that's happening, then just nip it in the bud.

What do you think?

You can still chat about stuff, but it would be in U2U's or emails - big deal!!

Why pull the DD forum? All it needs is sensible responses without the need to get controversial?

I reckon that those DSC members not interested in DD would want DD chat kept away from the main areas???

When you go to the cinema, do you talk back and argue with the actors on the screen? I somehow think you do!!!!

Yes we do.

There's lots of stuff that gets discussed in there besides all the whinging, bitching and arguing threads. Some of it is actually useful.

It's not the fault of the board that it is being misused.

So what constructive stuff is talked about in the DD forum, that couldn't be talked about in the Monster or SS forum?

Surely that leaves official type stuff, which the RC can post - and lock.

Anything else is just gunna be arguing, coz it's not bike specific chat or anything important.

General chit chat can go anywhere.

Anything that resembles a moan at rules, just gets removed.

Stuff like how the best way to attach the sharks fin to your swingarm, or maybe a discussion about which battery is lightest? Things that while may be relevant to other forums are probably best kept in the DD one.

I thought my DD diary was quite constructive with 104 entries/replies and 2550+ views
