I ran the chip with my cans which slotted and standard pipes and it ran like a pig and stuck standard chip back in and ran like a swiss watch. if you have the same problem you could always get it set up to run with the chip. if I remember right there is a plastic clip which will stop the chip from coming out. I know I put a blob of silicone on it for some reason but cant remember why but youll work it out when you get in there.
The 059 chip is the Bip chip for standard cans, I guess the other chip is for ' open silencers' as its a Ducati part number, why not 'phone a dealer and confirm that its the correct one?
You should be ok running a different chip with the standard cans. The chips alter the fuelling, making it richer to cope with the increased airflow of the bigger bore cans.
If you're like me and ride a couple of miles to the MOT station with your standard cans, then having the bike running slightly too rich won't hurt it at all.
