916 SPS Exhaust Material

Now the the fairings are off 'Project SPS' I am noticing that the exahust is in dire need of a clean/polish. (among a host of other things)

I've searched here and Google but am struggling to find what material the exhaust is. There looks to be rust type deposits on the manifolds but I cant tell if its SS or mild steel. bearing in mind that this bike has never seen rain or salt roads.....not once.

Obviously the material type will help to choose the type of cleaning required.

Cheers.

Usually they are low quallity Stainless, hence the tendancy to tarnish and rust, should polish up with the usual stainless kits
