Bang on. I know one dyno that reads a constant 5-8% over the new one at PDQ.
I'd expect a properly jetted, open-airbox, race-canned, non-fettled 583 to give 48-51bhp on a new dyno, but the figure could be anywhere from 45-55bhp on one that hasn't been re-calibrated in a while.
Remember Phil wasted many bikes with a genuine 10bhp advantage last year. Power is only really key about 20% of the time, but it gives you something to worry about over winter!
