So, where does everyone have their tax disc holder? In London I must have it visible when I park musnt I? What should I do about putting a parking permit on it too? Any tips?

I don't use one. I use the Oxford protective film. The sort that they use for tank protectors. I cut a piece off and stick my tax disc on with it. It is the only waterproof tax disc older I have ever had.
Stick it on the bike and take a picture of it on your mobile phone so if some Tw*t nicks it you can still show that it was there.

There's been a few discussions on this in the past - one example being :

Do a search on 'tax disc holder' to see others.

My solution .... can be viewed, yet you would have to start taking panels off to pinch it. Not a massive deterent, but, makes it a little more difficult to pinch.

Mounts on a spare brass insert on the battery carrier.
