Would it be a good idea to remove the rubber restrictors in the ram air tunnels?

Don't know if they supply the filter with any filter oil, but it's worth oiling the filter before fitting.
I use PJ1 filter oil on mine. Very messy, but worth doing so all the dust gets caught.
Remove the rubber bungs.......and the original filters to
I find fitting the thing easiest if you put your hand inside the rearmost hole and work the front hole over the bellmouth from the inside. Fitting the rear is easy enough from the outside of the filter.

Get some one to give you a hand to tack the fuel tank off, as the connections under side are a sod with one hand holding the tank.
Also try to do it with an empty tank, much more easy.

What you want to do is put your hand inside the rear opening and the push the filter over the front bell mouth. The rear bell mouth is a lot easier to engage than the front.
