Question 749R - 04 vs 05 model differences

Anybody? spot the difference.

Which is preferred?

The '04 and '05 749R were virtually identical machines.The '04 bike is more desirable due to its full carbon fibre fairings and front guard.The '05/6 bikes had the same plastic fairings as the standard bikes.AFAIK,there is no differance in engine/chassis spec.
Unlike the 999R,you dont get the paddock stand,cover,plaque or Termis with the 749R.

Yes, the 2004 model with the carbon fairing is the most desirable...the CF and the paintwork is totally lush. The detailing of where the paint stops and the carbon begins over the fairing folds is sublime.

If I had one though, I would be scared stiff of wrecking the CF bodywork and would probably put plastic clothes on it anyway and bubble wrap the originals

hmmmmmm.......depreciation seems to be substantially less on the 'more sought after' baby R than it's bigger brother
