Thumbs down donnington practice

what is this story with donnington test day- made into a quiet track day, which would be bad enough, but seemingly already fully booked in all groups six weeks ahead
has anyone booked it or will we all have to do site laps, get to know track and get a qualifying time in one 15min session????????

The trackday on Thursday is £149 with focused event. Expensive or what! I've emailed Karen at Hottrax to get on the list if anyone fails to show. Dont think I'm going to pitch up and try to learn the track in 15mins. Might save my money for Cadwell.

Nah, go for it Simon! You will be in the same position as many others and still have a race. The only real downside is gearing and you can always go middle of he road with that

Donington is a fast track, so you'll want to go for speed. I'm sure someone will give you tips on that but get your 15t front sprockets on and go middle of your rear sprockets!

There's always a rush for trackday spaces before a race weekend. A lot of people plan well in advance and get things booked as soon as they know the race calendar. I always made sure that I had done a trackday on the track well in advance of racing there to ensure that you had a no-pressure day to learn the track and cement it into my brain, and also the chance to fix any breakages should the bike decide to have a little lay down!

The only one I didn't do that with was Oulton due to the distance. We entered another class instead to get extra practise time on the day, and that actually worked out quite well.

Just a had a message from Karen and Dave Mabbut, Hottrax are putting a practice session on the sat. Maybe I could scrounge a seession of somebody? - hardly anyone goes out on the last session of the day.

Never been to Donny myself either so it'll be roll up, try an scrounge a session and if not learn it in qually.

All will be good by the end of the first race so that leaves Sunday to put in a decent performance.
