Nice S4R exhaust

Helped a mate fit one of these to his brand new Monster S4R. Very nice quality and removes the Cat. It also has removable exhaust baffles. With them in, it is road legal, which is almost unbelievable as they are pretty load as is. He hasn't removed them yet, so don't what that will sound like.

Looks good. Can you let me know what your mate thinks to any performance differance. Also, has he had to change the ECU etc. Was it difficult to fit , how much. Ta.

He hasn't ridden it yet, but I wouldn't expect much change in performance, unless he changes the fueling. It looks like FIM (the maker of EPROM chip) has released a fully programmable replacement ECU, which he is planning to use to get the maximum performance from. According to the graphs published by Ducati, a 5 HP gain should be possible. He would be very happy with a real 120 BHP at the wheel.

Fitting it was very easy, everything lined up perfectly. We were both very impressed with the quality. And it eliminated that ugly Cat box.

I think it was aroung 900 quid for the whole system. Apparently, termis for the S4R are not yet available and they couldn't give him a date either.

Oh, also, he chopped off the back of the seat frame, just like in that picture above. Couldn't believe he took a hacksaw to a brand new bike! Must admit, it tidies up the rear considerably.
