Question Rennsport Track Pressures

Hi All,

First trackday on my 748R this week at Knockhill.

Can anyone please advise what tyre pressures I should be running my Metz Rennsports for the day?

Cheers
Chris

Measured cold, first thing.

Measure the pressure again when you come in. You need to be aiming for about 34-35 both ends when warm.

Are these race compound Rennsports RS1/2/3 compounds or road-going variety? If the former you should be using warmers or they will cold-tear and fall apart. If you haven't got warmers then gradually build speed to put some heat into them.
From my experience racing on Rennsports you have to be very careful with pressures to get the best out of them - they are very sensitive to this and will cold tear easily.

i used to use 1.9 front and 2.1 in the rear and again tyre warmers stop them falling apart

Thanks for the replies. I should have been specific in saying the tyres are the road going variety.

Ahhh...righto. In that case you should try about 32/32 and keep an eye on the pressure after sessions and between to ensure it doesn't go too high i.e >35psi otherwise it'll be like riding on marbles. Warmers aren't so necessary with the road versions.
