Dead bike . .

Hello

I have managed to cook the battery,
and have put it down to overcharging, which would
imply the recgulator/rectifier is faulty . . . or the battery

As I have expierence of this in the past with three regulators
burning out, and the present one is a electrix RR51 which
I understand would solve this problem . . .

Thicker wires have all replaced standard,

without looking at the bike, which will be the weekend now
is there any thing I should be looking for apart from melted wires

any input would be great

Can't help with those mate, but what I can help with is a battery shop that stocks the standard batteries in Twickenham, a 3 minute walk from Twickenham green if you're stuck.

I got the replacement battery from them for my 998R.

Sorry to hear this Steve...don't ya just love it!

I haven't had the problem of frying the reg/rec, but this thread where I had a problem with a non-charging battery icludes some good info on how to determine if it is the RR that is knackered or summut else!

I may also have a spare RR lying about if you want to try it?

Hello

Thanks for the link Harv, I seem to remember the problems
you had . . looks like I will have my work cut out, if it not the battery.

I had the Varta battery fitted, made Nelly laugh at the service
when he took the panel off mickey mouse battery

Karl

just going passed the Devil on the way home, when the engine bolt snapped
and flew out down alone the road.

fortunatley it was the rear bolt, but made the trip home intresting
