Fuel Tank Repairs - Any thoughts?

Has anyone had cause to price a fuel tank recently? I was interested how much a new one goes for.

Rgds,

Rob

A new one for a 996/748 is £940
I know where there is one a lot cheaper though

I have had a disaster with my 888 tank. Few nasty dents and ripped mounting lugs.

Given the potentially heart stopping price for a new one, does anyone know of a skilled repair type?

I am thinking that you could easily run up a hell of a bill for the work and by the time Dream Machine have charged £300 up to repaint it, a new one might start to make sense - assuming they are still available.

Has anyone been through this recently? How much do you think it'll cost to get it all back in shape?

Thanks,

Rob

Try giving Brancato or Baines a shout, either may have a 2nd hand one around or Tony may be able to sort yours out.
But first give Jim at Bike Enders a shout on 01708 455530 as he usually has a few 851 and 888 parts around.

Shheeessssshhhhh!!!!!

My tank on my grey 748s is being replaced due to the steering damper rubbing on the tank. Thought about £600 but £940 jesus.

Glad I'm not footing the bill

Thanks

Just shows that all manufacturers indulge in rip off prices for spare parts...when you think of it, you're paying approx 10% of the cost of a brand new 749S...just for a tank !!!!
