Starting problem 1098
My 1098s has been sitting over the winter on a optimate charger and I fire it up every couple of weeks! Last week it would not start, it Turning over twice then the servo runs for another 5/10 seconds. I replaced the battery but it still only turns over twice won't fire and the servo runs on. Hope someone out there can help??
It's getting a spark but not sure about fuel as when I turn the key I don't hear the fuel pump but when I turn it off I hear a pump running for a second or so..

Try replacing the coil/injector/fuel pump relay on the right side of the battery box. There are two in this position, the rear one is the one you want.

Starting problem 1098s
I checked the relays on the right hand side of the battery, they appear like water has got at them and the spades on the relay appear corroded. I will try to get two new ones and clean the fitting block! Have you any idea were I can get them without going to ducati as they normally take weeks even to get the smallest parts!
Thanks for your help!

I get them from ebay. For info, the front one is for the fans. This can also cause EOBD errors on the dash. So replace both if they are showing Verdi Gris

Buy a spare as well.

Use some dielectric or silicone grease on the connectors to keep the moisture out.

Common fault that I was alerted to just before mine packed up several times on tour

Surprisingly not that pricey from Ducati which makes a change. Coat them in electro grease to prevent it happening again.

Ducati 1098 won't start
Hi guys thanks for all your help I replaced the two relays and had a new starter clutch fitted an the bike is starting and running very well! The relays i replaced looked like they had water damage so much so that the spades on them had changed colour!! I put the grease you recommended on and removed and cleaned the earth strap!!
Thanks again

Sam
