Joined the 1299s club!

Just joined the 1299s club!
Went to a Duc dealer on Saturday on my 1198 for a demo. Asked if he had any available and said there is 1 that was supposed to be going to a guy this week but had Issues with insurance, if he didn't respond to them regarding taking delivery it was mine if I wanted it!
I picked it up Tuesday!

Helped that I got £600 more for my 1198 than I paid for it 20months and 4000 miles ago!
First impressions are it feels like a 600 dropping in and loving the up down quick shifter! How did we manage without this before!
Like how you can dial in or out either the traction/wheely/slipper whilst on the go with + - buttons.
Have got 300 miles on it already and even taking it steady it is a proper missile!
Will be a real wheely monster!
1st service next Tuesday, then straight to Cadwell on Tuesday evening for a track day!

Rode one round Morés track in Sardinia in Race mode on a DRE day and by christ was it (a) quick and (b) easy to ride!

Definitely need to get myself one!

Well, had it a week now and I have to say I'm bowled over with it!
First service yesterday morning and been to Cadwell last night!
It is proper ballistic! it Revs out in top like the old 1198 used to in 4th!!!
Only issue is it Felt very snatchy/hesitant around 5-6k! -possibly to do with the exhaust flapper valve sticking? Possible solution is to lock wire it open?
Apart that the bike is amazing! was still reeling off 1.40s even with traffic!
55deg on the lean angle
More to come when I get it dialled in with the bike and put some racetec's on it!
I love this bike!
Had it set to fixed suspension, bit of extra compression and rebound, dtc1 and it was perfect
155 in 5th on one wheel on the way home too! lol

Couple of laps data:

Easy high 1.30s without traffic and a bit more time on it and my favoured Racetec tyres

Just wanted to share this, was at Cadwell on Monday 17th July evening session and got a bit of footage with my £38 sj6000 go pro copy
No quick times as this is the 4th and last session, my racetec k2 rear was shredded as this was its 2nd track day and it's also done some road miles too!
Posting this as chasing my mate on a Beemer s1000 who is pretty quick, unfortunately the camera had dropped a bit so not quite the perfect view.
Was having a few issues getting the power down on corner exit and traction was earning its keep! Was making bit of it up on corner entry. Few riders out there going steady so never got a full clear lap.
