You are gonna have to be more specific,....any other symptoms?
Any warning lights on the dash,....eg,the orange EOBD light?
When was it last serviced,and where?

These are the most common faults;
Front coil breaking down.
Fuel pump relay.
Poor fuelling set up.

Well the orange light is not staying on,....thats a good thing.
As for the engine cutting out,it could be something simple like the recent change of ambient temperature,....my 999 used to cut out a bit in cold weather,....or it could be the fuelling wants setting up again.Sounds like you must be due for another service.

Hello,

If you search the Ducati forum sites you will discover some are prone to this.
Mine did and was sorted by a specialist (Ducati John) in 5 mins with his lap top.That was 2 years ago.

Recently I had to have another ecu fitted and guess what it did it again. Sorted once again in 5 mins with his lap top. I think its the TPS (sensor)

Good luck.

Not having a 749, but could it be a case of the TPS needing resetting, I know they need resetting if you swap ECUs but how are they affected by either battery removal orbattery volts dropping below a certain level.

As 'Its Me' also suggests checking the TPS I would get along to a Ducati specialist and have it checked/reset

The unfortunate thing with a T9/749 TPS, is they are not adjustable physically. They are part and parcel of the throttle body. The TPS on these has to be zeroed out using Ducati Mathesis equipment.
