I get really annoyed with insurance companies/brokers who don't bother to give their best quote because they are relying on customer inertia.

What particularly gets me is, if you ring to say 'you're not competitive, they'll usually reduce their price! If they could do that, why didn't they do it in the first place? So I shop around every year. It takes a while and piles of patience but usually pays off. I have bikes and household renewals next week so double dose of patience required.

It is a bit strange isn't it?

I've just received my renewal from Bennetts for the 748.....

Renewal is £316.

But, in the last paragraph they say they can also do it for £238

I log on to their site for an online quote and they will now do it for £215

Shopped around and that looks like the best I can get. Happy with that.

Jacko.

Try Liverpool-Victoria for your house and contents.

Cut my cost by nearly 50% and covered a lot more in the price including old for new and holiday insurance, insured against loss in the garden and kit taken on holiday.

Type the name in to Google I'm sure it'll come up.

Just had my renewal quote from MCE for my ST3 and 748.Thought I'd try Bennetts and Ducati Insurance just to compare.

Bennetts were £4 cheaper at £324 but Ducatti came in at £300 including 3rd pty cover on riding any other bike. Bargain

Good link there mate. Just tried again (crashed on me this morning) and it's come back 25 quid cheaper than the Bennetts one.

Also, it would be only 30 quid more to go from a 748s to a 996 sps........just need to find one of those now
