999 tool kit

Hi guys,

I need some help here.
Does your tool kit came with the tool to ajust preload on the rear shock?

I didn't got one, but on the manual says there should be a "fence" to ajust the rear shock

Thank you John.

Can anyone check on a 999R?

I think it's just stupid that a bike like this doesn't come with a tool to set preload. And the worst thing is that i tryed to adjust it with other tools for that and it didn't fit the shock or thr space between the shock and the exaust.

My 'S' manual says there is a tool for adjusting the shock.
What they mean tho,is the crappy little screwdriver to alter the damping! Not that its needed as the bike has Ohlins and all the adjusters are knurled knobs.
As for altering the spring pre load,I use a selection of 'C' spanners. Its such a performance to adjust,I usually end up using a hammer and punch.

Mood: is it the weekend yet??
Its very difficult to use a c spanner on the standard exhaust routing, the 2:1:2 of the race termi system makes it a lot easier as rear pipe drops down not up towards end can. Well, thats another justification for skinting myself with that 57mm system

talking of preload, i've now swapped to a lighter rear spring(64 kg v's 75as stock) on my 999S bip, rear traction out of bends is way better and its helping bike turn better which i was surprised at as it should slacken head angle. Spring might be a bit soft as I'm having to run spring length at 145mm so thats 15mm of preload and I've got 37mm sag with me on bike. Anyone know what max preload on an Ohlins spring is??
