Yeah right!!!!

I`m excited abot the new bike...

If it looks like the GP bike, has a single sided swingarm and the base model outperforms the 999R....

Looks like the 996S Hodgy is gonna get replaced by a new S model.

Of course... you'll be able to exploit the extra performance

I will believe it when I see it. If there is indeed a whole new bike then its tantamount to admission that the 999 series was a failure for the cimpany as a whole. After all the 916 series (inc variants) basically lasted 10 years.

Let's hope there' some improvement in running costs otherwise they still won't tempt this Ducati fan back into the purchasing fold.

You should have been on the Factory Trip this year - they've already admitted it!

It's fair to say that the 748/916 series had reached the end of the road in terms of major development. Unfortunately, when it comes to raw numbers that 749/999 series didn't significantly move things on it terms of performance. Sure they are more user-friendly (not an advantage in my book) but, they're still too heavy and cost too much. It' s shame that it's cost the factory a lot and people who bought those bikes are gonna suffer massive depreciation due to the short model life.

C'mon Andy, you've had plenty of chances to put your money where your mouth is but I still haven't seen your name on the entry forms as yet!

possibly, maybe probably, but then again some designs are of there time, some designs are timeless and some designs are ahead of their time. Love it or hate it, the 999 shape is a very strong design in many ways, and in time it may be appreciated, it may prove to have been ahead of its time and that relatively short production/low numbers may bring a recovery in its value, especially for the rarer and faster yellow :-)

I wouldn't buy a new one on the basis that it would be just too fast for me, may take a look if a wee brother arrives later
